It also gives you a long IGFA legal leader that you are allowed to handle at boatside and reduces the amount of people needed for landing a fish successfully. These wind-ons have a looped header at the top end to attach to your main line. Tie a bimini at the end of your main line, and do a “cats paw” loop-to-loop connection to the header on the wind-on, and you’re done!
