The Valiant 300 size is the one that started it all for the Valiant series, it was originally released as a micro/slow jigging reel for the Asia market, an extremely light and strong reel for its size. It’s not just great for jigging but also flylining live bait with enough capacity of 30lb to get you some great schoolie yellowtail, bluefin and yellowfin. It’s a very popular size for bottom fishing.

At about 10oz with the old ball handle and a bit more with the rubber it’s a very small package that is about as light as it gets for a conventional reel while still putting out a massive 23lbs of drag rivaling the Seigler SGN in size and drag.
