Tungsten jigs have been gaining popularity in Japan over the last few years, tungsten is 74% more dense than lead meaning you can get a smaller jig profile without sacrificing on weight. The TG Keiji is less than 4″ long and weighs 5.3oz which is about half the volume of a Salas 6X Jr while weighing an ounce more.

These jigs cast a mile and present a very small profile so they are perfect for targeting yellowtail, yellowfin and even bluefin when they’re feeding on smaller bait. We’ve already been catching fish on them this year and they really are a game changer.

The problem with tungsten jigs is manufacturing cost, it has the highest melting point of any metal at 6200 degrees so it is very difficult to work with. Only a few manufacturers exist for this style of jig and they are generally limited in shape and size but Bozles has done an amazing job of making using designs compared to other companies selling glorified torpedo sinkers.
