The Harrier Slow Pitch rods are a great addition to Daiwas lineup. As the slow pitch jigging scene has been growing in the US over the last few years the price of entry has decreased by a long shot, so it is great to continue seeing better value alternatives to the higher end rods with a higher price tag. At $199 these rods are very hard to beat, they give you pretty much everything you need to get a good start without breaking the bank. These rods all use Fuji K-Concept guides which are very popular due to their low weight, corrosion resistance, and overall design making them the standard across most slow pitch rods. They vary in weight from 4.5 oz all the way up to a back breaking 5.25 oz on the XH model, needless to say making them perfect for jigging all day due to their ultralight weight. They feature Fuji graphite trigger reel seats, and a longer rear grip length to accommodate for underarm fishing when youre hooked up.

Overall these are awesome rods that will be the perfect start for those interested in trying out slow pitch jigging, its a very productive technique that takes less effort than speed jigging but still gives you an involved and active fishing experience. I would look to pair these with the Daiwa Saltist 15, Saltiga 10/15/35 Star Drags or go with one of the newer Saltiga Lever Drag 15/35JH. As far as jigs go, there are a ton of options out there on the market depending on what kind of action and presentation you want, I tend to prefer the Tady TSP and TSP Tuna jigs which have worked very well for me.
