Daiwa Saltist Jigging Combo

Created specifically for jigging anywhere along the Pacific inshore. We found there was a huge need for a setup that could offer versatility to anglers who were looking to chase big game but not necessarily needed the heavy setup that are usually marketed for offshore fishing. The Daiwa Saltist Jigging Combo is perfect for fishing the rugged Pacific Coast in search of Lingcod and Rockfish, but can also handle the incidental Halibut.

The Rod

Daiwa Harrier X 5’8″ 65-120 pound, 1-Piece jigging rod is perfect for jigging 4-16 ounces and is appropriately powered to handle Lingcod and Halibut, but light enough to still have fun fishing over a Rockfish school. The blank is lightweight, making it easy to fish rod-in-hand all day.

The Reel

The Daiwa Saltist is one of our top-end saltwater levelwind reels, and the Saltist 40 in particular is built for the stress of big game fishing, but offers a smooth retrieve and solid drag system that makes this reel a pleasure to fish.

The Line

We spool up this combo with P-Line EndurX 65 pound braided line. The reel holds 400 yards, which makes this reel fitting to fish all of our nearshore banks and even offshore in most locations.
