Join Anglers All and Instructor Doug Andrews for a class series of beginner fly tying basics that will formulate the building blocks of a successful future in fly tying.

Students will learn the fundamentals of fly tying, and most importantly, they will be instilled with the proper techniques from the very start so that they can become consistent and self-sufficient fly tyers.

Each beginner course consists of two separate 3-hour learning sessions on consecutive Saturdays.

This Introduction To Fly Tying Class is the perfect way to establish the skills necessary to become a self-sufficient fly tyer. This class will help you with the most important techniques and also with proper fly proportion – an aspect of tying that many beginners struggle with.

Tying materials are included in the class. Students will need to bring their own vice and tools.

Required Tool List:

• Vise
• Bobbin + Bobbin Threader
• Scissors
• Whip Finisher
• Hackle Pliers

There is a max of four students per class so no student is left behind.

Each student will receive (as part of their enrollment cost) a 15% discount on all fly tying related purchases from the date the class is paid for until the conclusion of the course!

DAY 1

• Why we tie our own flies
• Fly imitations
• Hooks explained
• Choosing and using the right tools
• Starting a fly
• Basic techniques
• Tie your first fly pattern. A simple midge like the Black Beauty

DAY 2

• Put those newly learned techniques to good use
• Tie a basic nymph pattern like the Pheasant Tail Nymph
• Tie a basic dry fly pattern like the Green Drake
• As time allows a third pattern will be worked on
