The Hakai reels have been out for a few years now and have proven themselves to be one of the best value for your money in a 100 size reel. The frames are magnesium which is lighter than aluminum and something you’ll typically find in the $500-700 reels from the other competitors. The spool shaft is hollow with bearing balls inserted at the ends to lighten up the spool and create less friction against the spool centering knob and frame.

These are an awesome inshore and freshwater reel for fishing anywhere from 8-20lb, you can expect around 180-200 yards of 20lb braid which is plenty for fishing spotties locally or a variety of other smaller species around the country.
