The original idea for hairwing patterns came about in the 1920s in several locations simultaneously. In the late 20s Lee Wulff specifically looked to upgrade a ROYAL COACHMAN FAN WING with hair wings and tail. Right up there with the ADAMS, the ROYAL WULFF is one of the most well-known dry flies of all time. Considered strawberries and cream by trout, dont be afraid to feed them desert any time of day.
